"Don't worry, be happy", Bobby McFerrin

One of my favorite tunes of all time is Bobby McFerrin's "Don't worry, be happy". You will remember it too or you can go to the link below to see his music video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjnvSQuv-H4

I was reminded of this tune when I listened to the message Pastor Mark brought us this last Sunday from the Gospel of Matthew. The 6th Chapter is full of meaning for me, but most especially the 34th verse "So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today's trouble is enough for today". http://bible.oremus.org/?passage=Matthew+6

Of course the Disiderata conveys much the same meaning to me. http://www.fariborz.com/newpage1.htm

I can't help but notice all the signposts pointing me to concerning myself with the things over which I may have some influence and leaving the rest to God. Certainly, I have no control over the "thorn in my side". I do have some control over how I behave as I go through the process of healing.

It seemed a good thing to do to participate in the Bolder Boulder this weekend with Karen. I am happy to report that I finished it before sundown. It was good to be involved in this effort with so many people. Everyone did seem pretty happy to be there. I was happy to be there too.

You go, Jim! Seeing those pictures put a smile on my face! And, by the way, you are helping me personally with your very insightful blogs/meditations/ thoughts for the day/. Thanks for doing this for all of us!
